Stand up Paddleboarding (SUP) is the fastest growing paddlesport in the UK, that's according to British Canoeing, the governing body for paddlesports.... and we can see why.
Accessibility is big part of participation, paddleboarding makes it easy to get on the water with minimal hassle.
The most popular paddleboards are inflatable, this means there's no need to swap your hatchback for a van or wrestle with fiddly roof racks, simply pop it in the boot and pump up your board when you arrive.
If you're looking to start paddleboarding as a new hobby or perhaps you already have your own board and want some useful tips, then why not check out our Intro to Paddleboarding Tour based in Cromford, Matlock.
The Cromford Canal is the perfect location for paddleboarding. Parking is situated directly opposite the water, there are toilet facilities and two great cafés based on site.
The tour itself includes a 3km up and back journey with a stop at High Peak Junction at the half way point.
The shelterd waters of Cromford Canal offers a great training ground for beginners, but it's stunning scenery also offers a beautifully unique paddle for SUP enthusiasts.
