Service Description

The Rapid Adventure introduces you to the art of white water kayaking. The 3km journey through stunning landscape sees you take on low grade rapids before tackling the infamous Matlock Slalom Course. Be prepared to get wet and have a blast! *This activity also includes the British Canoeing Start Kayaking Award!* Our inflatable kayaks are very user friendly, stable and manoeuvrable, you'll pick up the art of paddling in no time. You'll be guided downstream by one of our highly experienced river guides, who using their own kayak will teach you the skills you'll need to enjoy this five star kayaking experience. We provide all your equipment including Kayak, paddle, PFD, helmet and wetsuit. We recommend bringing the following; • Footwear that can get wet and muddy, trainers are ideal (no flip flops or welly boots) • A change of clothes and shoes for after your activity  • A towel for changing  • Arrive in what you wish to wear under your wetsuit, this can be swim wear or tight a fitting rash rest or gym wear. • Sun screen and water on warm sunny days  • Hat and gloves on cold The minimum age for this activity is 12 years, there is no upper age limit. We recommend small children double up with a parent in one of our tandem kayaks. The largest Buoyancy Aid fits a 48" chest. The maximum group size is 8. If spaces aren’t available online please contact us as to check availability. If you have a group larger than 8, please take a look at our Kayak Adventure Tour, this also includes rapids. All bookings with numbers 8 and below must be paid in full at the time of booking. Bookings with numbers over 12 will be offered a 50% booking deposit option, the remaining balance will be due 14 days prior to the activity date. The final balance will reflect final numbers.

Cancellation Policy

Refunds will not be issued if the client decides to cancel their booking after the transaction has taken place. In the case that the client or attendee is unable to attend their booking due to illness or injury a credit note will be issued. RH endeavours to deliver any activity booked. By their nature some of our activities can be affected by adverse weather conditions. The weather is unfortunately outside of our control and we reserve the right to cancel any activity booked that we deem unsafe to operate. On the rare occasion we need to cancel due to safety concerns, we aim to inform the client with as much notice as possible and will offer an alternative activity or a reschedule with no expiry date. RH will not be liable for costs encored by the client in relation to the initial booking transaction, travel or accommodation expenses where adverse weather conditions forces a cancellation of the booking.
